Technologies

DNA Sequencing:

The ABI model 3100 and 3730XL systems are two of the most advanced DNA sequencing platforms on the market today, offering the highest quality data, longest read lengths and greatest throughput capacity. For more information on these two technologies, visit the Applied Biosystems website at www.appliedbiosystems.com.

Automated Liquid-Handling Robotics

The Biomek® FX Laboratory Automation Workstation (Beckman Coulter) is amongst the most highly-regarded automated liquid- handling systems on the market. SeqWright uses Beckman robotics for high-throughput DNA sequencing, purifications, PCR setup and genotyping to ensure the best in accuracy and precision. More information on this system may be found at www.beckman.com.

Picking & Macroarraying:

Seqwright uses the QPix automated colony picker for accurate, high-throughput colony picking and macroarraying. For more information on this technology, visit Genetix at www.genetix.co.uk.

Oligo Synthesis:

SeqWright's oligo synthesis service is a perfect companion to our DNA sequencing service, giving our customers the luxury of one-stop shopping and fast turnaround times on all sequencing project submissions. We use the ABI model 3900 DNA synthesizer, a high-throughput, fully automated DNA synthesis system. More information on this system can be found at the ABI website at www.appliedbiosystems.com.

Quantitative PCR:

SeqWright's newest platform, the ABI PRISM® 7000 Sequence Detection System. This is a real-time, quantitative PCR system with applicaions that include gene expression and pathogen detection. Also, post-PCR detection is available for non-quantitative assays such as allelic discrimination (SNP detection) and plus/minus assays utilizing an internal positive control (IPC). More information on this system can be found at the ABI website at www.appliedbiosystems.com.
