Analyses of Expression Microarray Data
Microarray is one of the most important tools in genomic research today. It allows scientists to analyze expression of many genes in a single experiment quickly and efficiently. The bioinformatics experts at SeqWright are able to process microarray data for Gene Expression Analysis and Copy Number Analysis by using variety of software.
Gene Expression Analysis Process:
All data will first be normalized using the Robust Multi-array Analysis (RMA) system. The data will then be further explored by a Principal Components Analysis (PCA) scatter plot to visualize high dimensional data. Differentially expressed genes will be identified by analysis of variance (ANOVA), a very powerful technique for accessing differentially expressed genes in a multi-factor experiment. A list of all genes that are significantly different in expression for each group will then be generated. Additionally, genes will be screened further to identify any gene expression values having an absolute difference larger than 2 fold. These will be selected and used to generate a final gene list. Hierarchical Clustering will be applied to the final gene list, and the gene expression levels within different samples will be shown as a Heatmap graph. Finally, the GO Enrichment will be used to analyze the genes in the final gene list by GO terminology.
