Privacy Protection

Your personal genetic information is extremely sensitive. In fact, it may be the most sensitive information there is and as new discoveries are made, and more is learned about what your genes say about you, this information is likely to become evermore sensitive over time. It is with these thoughts in mind that SeqWright takes every reasonable precaution to protect your data and privacy.

Protective Measures

Your customer information and your genetic information will be kept in separate data bases and only a numeric code, known by a few high-level SeqWright employees, will link the two. Both databases will employ strong encryption and monitored firewall protection, making them extremely difficult to hack. Furthermore, even if there was a security breach, the intruder would only be able to access either your customer information (name and address) or your genetic data, but not both and therefore, they could not connect you to your genetic information.

In order to maintain the integrity of your genetic information and to ensure it is never lost, SeqWright will redundantly store your data in secure, fire-resistant rooms both here at SeqWright and at a secure off-site facility. Furthermore, our facility maintains up to date disaster plans including emergency backup power and restricted access to areas where data is stored.
