Genomic Shotgun Library Construction & Sequencing
SeqWright has the capacity to manufacture over 300 custom shotgun libraries a month and can prepare libraries from a variety of samples including large genomes, adenoviral vectors, BACs, cosmids and more. All genomic libraries are constructed in-house within our GLP-compliant facility.
Standard Genomic Libraries
SeqWright is the exclusive supplier of custom shotgun libraries prepared by the 'Double Adaptor' method, utilized by BCM-HGSC in completing the Human Genome Project.
- Double adapter shotgun library construction
- Plasmid pWright™ vector capable of holding inserts up to 10kb (typically 1-3kb)
- High percentage of clones carry inserts
- No chimerics
- Libraries submitted to customer as plates, glycerol stocks, or purified DNA
- QC by DNA sequencing to ensure clones carry inserts
- Construction of libraries in custom plasmid vector libraries available
- gDNA preparation available
- 2 week turnaround time in most cases
Whole Genome Shotgun Sequencing
- Automated picking and arraying colonies into 96- or 384-well plate format
- Robotic DNA preparation
- High-throughput sequencing using ABI Prism™ 3730xl sequencers
- Contig assembly, mapping and gap closure
- Geospiza Finch® Suite sample tracking sample tracking
